About the event
The Empty Pantry Fund has been providing food to less-fortunate Blount County residents at Christmas since 1952, and that tradition of giving continues in 2025. Today The Empty Pantry Fund serves over 1,250 baskets of food to underprivileged residents throughout Blount County. With food insecurity an increasing concern due to the government’s shutdown and suspension of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, the need for food baskets to help families with meals at Christmas and for several days beyond is even more critical. Although the official fundraising campaign runs from the first Saturday in November through Dec. 31, supporters may make donations via PayPal on the EPF website, www.emptypantryfund.org, at any time of year.
Two time slots are available on Dec. 18th to help with food packing - one in the morning 9:30 am - 12:30 pm or 5:30 pm til done.
